Acupuncture & Complementary Therapies

Scientifically proven, natural, safe effectiveness

Acupuncture is a medical treatment with ancient origins, primarily from the East, especially China. Today it is used worldwide and is recommended by the World Health Organization for many pathologies.

The therapeutic effectiveness is confirmed by the growing number of people turning to this therapy for treatment, but it is especially thanks to technological progress and evidence based scientific studies that we better understand the mechanism of action, and we can discuss about its real effects on individuals.

Our Offer

Acupuncture: Insertion of very fine needles at the skin level. Normally painless. The needles used are sterile and single-use.
Electroacupuncture: Acupuncture needles are electrically stimulated at various frequencies to enhance the therapeutic benefit.
Dry Needling: The acupuncture needle is inserted and manipulated in trigger points. Useful for relieving pain and spasms.
Cupping and Wet Cupping: This technique involves applying cups to the skin with negative pressure, creating skin suction. Cupping involves only applying the cups, while Wet Cupping involves pricking the skin with a small needle to let out a small amount of blood (0.5-1 ml), which is then aspirated by the cup.
Gua Sha: Rubbing the skin with a stone to increase lymphatic and blood circulation, creating a decongestant and muscle-relaxing effect. When used for facial treatments, it stimulates collagen production.
Auriculotherapy: Stimulation of auricular points using needles, microspheres (Vaccaria seeds), or laser. Vaccaria seeds may be left in place for home stimulation.
Laser Acupuncture: Stimulation of acupuncture points with laser light (painless). The skin remains intact, and no needles are used.

Treatments

The doctor evaluates the patient's symptoms, clinical history, lab tests, and diagnostic instruments. If necessary, further examinations may be requested to complete the diagnosis.

In the consultation, symptoms are also interpreted according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Great attention is given to lifestyle habits and aspects of Chinese semiotics such as tongue examination (evaluation of the color and coating) and pulse characteristics.

Patients are advised to avoid coffee or foods that could alter the tongue's color in the hours preceding the consultation.
At the end of the clinical evaluation, the patient will be informed about their clinical condition and the method and procedures of acupuncture and complementary therapies (dry needling, electroacupuncture, cupping, auriculotherapy, laser acupuncture).

IMPORTANT: Acupuncture and complementary therapies do not exclude the use of other official therapies and/or medications.
